New Water Heater Installation for Medway Homes
At Top Notch HVAC Company, we install water heaters for homeowners throughout Norfolk County and the Metro West area.
Whether you’re replacing an aging unit before it fails, upgrading to a more efficient model, or adding a water heater to new construction or a finished addition, our team handles every fuel type and configuration: electric, gas, and tankless. Family-owned since 2014 with over 35 years of home systems experience, we size every installation to your household’s actual peak demand and handle the full job from equipment selection through final testing.
We install units from leading brands including Rheem, Bradford White, AO Smith, Navien, Rinnai, and Noritz. Most installations are completed in a single day, and same-day appointments are often available throughout Norfolk County and the Metro West area. We handle permit coordination where required, haul away the old unit, and don’t leave until you have confirmed hot water at every tap.
Choosing the right water heater comes down to three things: your home’s fuel source, your household’s peak hot water demand, and how long you plan to stay in the home. Electric tank units are the simplest install and work well in homes without a gas line. Gas units heat faster and cost less to run in most cases. Tankless systems eliminate standby heat loss and deliver continuous hot water on demand, at a higher upfront cost that often pays back over time.
We’ll walk you through the tradeoffs for each option before you commit to anything. Same-day, no-obligation, free estimates available throughout the Metro West area. Contact Top Notch HVAC Company to schedule your water heater installation estimate in Norfolk County.

Electric Water Heater Installation
Electric water heaters are a reliable, low-maintenance option for homes without a natural gas line or homes where simplifying to a single utility makes sense. We install standard electric resistance tank units sized 30 to 80 gallons, as well as heat pump water heaters that use roughly 60% less electricity than a conventional model.
Many heat pump units qualify for Mass Save rebates in Massachusetts, which can significantly reduce the upfront cost. We handle all electrical connections and circuit work to Massachusetts code. Learn more on our electric water heater installation page.
Gas Water Heater Installation
Gas water heaters heat water faster than standard electric models and typically cost less to operate over time.
We install natural gas and propane tank water heaters from leading brands, and we handle all venting configurations: direct vent, power vent, and atmospheric, matched to your home’s existing flue setup.
We’re licensed to work on gas appliances in Massachusetts and confirm every gas line connection is inspected and safe before we leave.
See our dedicated gas water heater installation page for details.
Tankless Water Heater Installation
A tankless water heater heats water on demand rather than storing a tank of pre-heated water, eliminating standby energy losses and delivering continuous hot water without a recovery wait.
We install gas and electric tankless units from leading brands including Navien, Rinnai, and Noritz, sized correctly for your home’s peak simultaneous demand. Some gas tankless models qualify for federal tax credits, and select electric models qualify for Mass Save rebates.

January, 2026 Phil has always displayed deep knowledge of HVAC systems, and, in addition, he can explain things in a way that is understandable even to an ordinary homeowner.Posted on Google Michael Baldner5. January, 2026 Top Notch is a life saver - figuratively and literally. I had them come out as a second opinion to another local company that we previously used. The previous company came in and gave a bunch of highly-priced options to "fix" an issue they never even diagnosed. Our gas meter was being replaced unexpectedly, so the other company could not look at anything and instead of coming back later, they guessed on what was wrong based on the system codes that were showing. They basically scared my wife into doing costly repairs, saying the system would break if they didn't fix it. We reached out to Top Notch for that 2nd opinion and they came out right away. The first technician, Vinny, came in very professional and nice, and looked through everything on the system. Nothing stood out that needed repairs and completed a system maintenance and clean up. Vinny checked everything - and upon his review he found that our gas vent pipe (that the previous company installed) had disconnected inside the basement. There was basically carbon monoxide being dumped into our house - who knows for how long. You would think the previous company would have caught this in their diagnoses - but further nailed down that a 2nd opinion was needed. This was extremely dangerous and really thankful that Vinny found this out during his inspection of the system. Goes to show how thorough he was when going through everything. After Vinny left, we still received the system code on our thermostat. We called Top Notch again and they sent someone out right away. This time Aiden came over, who was also very professional and nice. He spent about 2 hours going through everything again and determined that our gas pressure was running high. He adjusted the pressure and went on his way. Top Notch did not charge me for this 2nd visit by their team - which was appreciated. Unfortunately we got the system code on our thermostat once again, and called Top Notch. Once more, they sent someone out right away. This time Sergei arrived and just like the other, was very professional and nice. He went through and saw the gas pressure was still running high and adjusted further. Spent some additional time just checking everything and making sure we were all set. He felt confident that the issue should be set at this point. Since the last visit, we have not had any issues with the system. We really appreciated the effort and time that Top Notch put into the care of our system. And the thoroughness of their inspections really did save us from something that could have been catastrophic with CO2 running into our home. Thank you again Vinny for finding and fixing this. I would not hesitate to use Top Notch on any future work in our house. What we were told were thousands of dollars worth of repairs (or even a new system) that were needed turned out to be a couple hundred dollars worth. We thank Top Notch for everything they did for us.Posted on Google Ravi Uppalapati29. December, 2025 Thank you for all your prompt service. James was amazing, respectful and clear communication.
