On-Demand Hot Water for Your Norfolk County Home
Top Notch HVAC Company installs tankless water heaters for homeowners throughout Norfolk County and the Metro West area. Unlike a conventional tank unit that keeps 40 or 50 gallons of water heated continuously, a tankless system fires only when you open a tap. Water is heated on the way through the unit and delivered in a continuous stream, with no recovery wait time and no standby heat loss. Family-owned since 2014 with over 35 years of home systems experience, we assess your household’s actual peak hot water demand and install the right unit, sized correctly, the first time.
Tankless water heaters make the most sense for homes that have outgrown their current tank, households with high simultaneous hot water demand, homeowners looking to reclaim utility room floor space, or anyone doing a remodel who wants to relocate utility infrastructure at the same time. We install both gas and electric tankless systems and carry brands including Navien, Rinnai, Noritz, and Rheem. We give you a straight comparison of both fuel types for your specific home before you commit.
Tankless water heaters cost more upfront than tank units, but they can reduce water heating energy use by 24 to 34% in homes using 41 gallons of hot water or less per day. High-usage households still save, just at a slightly lower percentage. Some gas tankless models qualify for federal energy tax credits. Select electric heat pump tankless models qualify for Mass Save rebates in Massachusetts. We sort out which incentives apply before you commit to anything, so you’re buying based on the real installed cost.
If your current tank is approaching 10 years old, evaluating a switch now rather than waiting for it to fail gives you time to choose the right system on your terms. Contact Top Notch HVAC Company for a free tankless water heater installation estimate in the Metro West area.

Gas Tankless Water Heater Installation
Gas tankless units are the most popular choice for whole-house applications across Norfolk County. They deliver flow rates high enough to run two showers, the dishwasher, and a washing machine simultaneously in most homes, and they do it without any storage tank taking up space in your utility room.
We install gas tankless water heaters from leading brands including Navien, Rinnai, and Noritz, and handle all venting and gas line work to Massachusetts code. Concentric PVC or stainless vent runs to the exterior are standard on most installations.
Electric Tankless Water Heater Installation
Electric tankless units are the right fit for point-of-use applications: a bathroom addition, a finished basement, a detached garage workshop, or a remote utility sink where running full-size hot water lines is not practical. Whole-house electric tankless systems require significant electrical capacity, typically 200-amp service and multiple 40 to 50-amp dedicated circuits, so we assess your electrical panel before making a whole-house recommendation.
For point-of-use work, electric tankless units install in a compact footprint, require no venting, and deliver instant hot water right where you need it.
Tankless Water Heater Repair & Maintenance
Tankless water heaters need periodic service to maintain peak performance. In the Metro West area, hard water mineral scale is the most common issue: calcium and magnesium build up on the heat exchanger over time, reducing efficiency and hot water output. We descale heat exchangers, clean inlet filter screens, and inspect all components including the igniter, flow sensor, and venting for any signs of wear or blockage.
If your unit is throwing error codes, producing inconsistent temperatures, or delivering noticeably less hot water output than before, call us for a same-day diagnostic visit. We service all brands throughout Norfolk County.

January, 2026 Phil has always displayed deep knowledge of HVAC systems, and, in addition, he can explain things in a way that is understandable even to an ordinary homeowner.Posted on Google Michael Baldner5. January, 2026 Top Notch is a life saver - figuratively and literally. I had them come out as a second opinion to another local company that we previously used. The previous company came in and gave a bunch of highly-priced options to "fix" an issue they never even diagnosed. Our gas meter was being replaced unexpectedly, so the other company could not look at anything and instead of coming back later, they guessed on what was wrong based on the system codes that were showing. They basically scared my wife into doing costly repairs, saying the system would break if they didn't fix it. We reached out to Top Notch for that 2nd opinion and they came out right away. The first technician, Vinny, came in very professional and nice, and looked through everything on the system. Nothing stood out that needed repairs and completed a system maintenance and clean up. Vinny checked everything - and upon his review he found that our gas vent pipe (that the previous company installed) had disconnected inside the basement. There was basically carbon monoxide being dumped into our house - who knows for how long. You would think the previous company would have caught this in their diagnoses - but further nailed down that a 2nd opinion was needed. This was extremely dangerous and really thankful that Vinny found this out during his inspection of the system. Goes to show how thorough he was when going through everything. After Vinny left, we still received the system code on our thermostat. We called Top Notch again and they sent someone out right away. This time Aiden came over, who was also very professional and nice. He spent about 2 hours going through everything again and determined that our gas pressure was running high. He adjusted the pressure and went on his way. Top Notch did not charge me for this 2nd visit by their team - which was appreciated. Unfortunately we got the system code on our thermostat once again, and called Top Notch. Once more, they sent someone out right away. This time Sergei arrived and just like the other, was very professional and nice. He went through and saw the gas pressure was still running high and adjusted further. Spent some additional time just checking everything and making sure we were all set. He felt confident that the issue should be set at this point. Since the last visit, we have not had any issues with the system. We really appreciated the effort and time that Top Notch put into the care of our system. And the thoroughness of their inspections really did save us from something that could have been catastrophic with CO2 running into our home. Thank you again Vinny for finding and fixing this. I would not hesitate to use Top Notch on any future work in our house. What we were told were thousands of dollars worth of repairs (or even a new system) that were needed turned out to be a couple hundred dollars worth. We thank Top Notch for everything they did for us.Posted on Google Ravi Uppalapati29. December, 2025 Thank you for all your prompt service. James was amazing, respectful and clear communication.
